US Hwy 52, about 7 miles North of Kingstree turned deadly in the early morning hours of December 20, 2007.

1 died in a 3 car accident around 3 a.m. when an 18-wheeler and 2 other vehicles collided, and just only a few hours later a 6 vehicle accident took place just 300 yards south of the first accident scene killing 1 and injuring others.

The second accident occurred near the intersection of Williamsburg County Hwy N. (US HWY 52) and McCutcheon Rd. when 3 large trucks and 3 cars were involved in a major collision scene that shut down Hwy 52 for more than 6 hours while the SCHP MAIT team reconstructed the accident scene.

Williamsburg County Fire Department responded mutual aide to South Lynches Fire Department on the second accident scene.
