On 11-17-06, a 1-veh accident on Walters Rd., just off F. Guerry Rd. claimed the life of a Kingstree woman bringing the 2006 death toll by motor vehicle accidents to 19. The victim was trapped between the vehicle, a Ford Explorer and the embankment. A wrecker with a boom was used to remove the vehicle off of the patient.

On November 11th, 2006 another 1 vehicle accident claimed the lives of 2 on Baxley Rd., just west of Hemingway. One other person in the vehicle was seriously wounded.
