A Hemingway man and woman died
Friday from injuries they
suffered in a car crash that
happened on S.C. 41 near
Hemingway, S.C. Highway Patrol
reports show.
Letitia Lynn Tyler, 31, and Freddie Roberts, 54, both were pronounced dead at the scene at 4:58 p.m., Williamsburg County Coroner Harrison McKnight said.
Troopers say Roberts and Tyler were traveling south on S.C. 41 at the time of the crash. Roberts was waiting to turn left in his Dodge pickup truck and was struck from behind by a Chrysler convertible driven by a 42-year-old Georgetown man.
The impact pushed the truck into the northbound lane, where it was struck again by a passing 18-wheeler.
The crash still is under investigation by the S.C. Highway Patrol. No charges have been filed.
