Plane Crash Near Stuckey Airport, Minor Injury to Pilot

On 5-10-06, Just a few minutes after 6:00 pm, WCFD units were alerted to respond to Stuckey Airport for a plane in distress, and needing to make an emergency landing.

First unit on scene reported via radio that he spotted the plane circling the airport, but soon after that the plane went out of sight; a few minutes later Central Dispatch received a call from the pilot that he had gone down in a wooded area just off Hwy 261, west of the airport.

The pilot reported only minor injuries, and no passengers were in the plane with him.

WCFD Stations 4(Stuckey), 5(Muddy Creek),6(Nesmith), and Hemingway Fire Deptarment responded to the call.
